My name is Matthew, though my friends call me Matt. I'm a 27 year old living in Perth, Western Australia.

I've been with my partner Maggie since August 2002. She works as a secondary English teacher at a school in the hills above Perth, very close to where I grew up. We were engaged in July of 2007 and married in April 2008. It was all quite exciting!

I studied Computer Science at Curtin University of Technology where I met Adam Fitzgerald. Together we started The Frontier Group, a software development company. I currently work as the company's Technical Director. My day-to-day tasks involve software planning and development, as well as client relations. As we're growing I am moving more towards "big picture" projects and further away from actual programming. I don't mind this.

The company employs four of us in total and we all studied at Curtin together, so we know we can get projects finished, on time at the last minute :)

Two and a half years ago I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training with Adam Metcalf at The Acadamy of Mixed Martial Arts. I've competed twice at a national level, finishing fourth in the most recent competition. I recently was awarded my blue belt.

I have been using Apple computers for 18 months and really like them. Our whole team use MacBook Pro laptops and I like the mixture of Apple's nice interfaces and UNIX's reliability.
