Bubba dubba dee buh buh buddah boh, I’m the tax man 3

Dear Mr Taxman (aka Mr Pepper),

Thanks for my return. Using the powers of the internet you were able to get it to my bank account in just under a week. Considering you’re a government worker that’s very impressive. I noticed that you took a grand extra for my HECS - that’s fine, we can still be friends,

Yours truly,

Matt

Kuler 2

Adobe Kuler is a Flash-based website that allows you to interactively select colour palettes. I’ve found that it’s handy for clients that want to change colours on a design because you can direct them to this site and have them make the selections. This prevents the back-and-forwards between our design team and the client.

Check it out.

Lego cufflinks 4

I received a fantastic gift from Carrie today - a pair of Lego cufflinks.

Tomorrow I’ll be wearing a long shirt just so I can try them out. Being Lego I could always alter the colours by adding extra 2×2 tiles on top too. In fact, the website suggests just that, and you can swap the colours around because the cufflink is only attached to the back brick.

What makes them extraordinary is that it was a “just because” present. What a great friend.

Embedded Flash video content 1

I needed to embed some Macromedia Flash video (FLV) files for a client recently. I found FlowPlayer to be a good, open source FLV player. It has clear examples and works straight out-of-the-box.

I found it via a Digg article.

Capital? 11

There’s a new anti-amphetamine television ad that ends with the line “Don’t let Ice destroy you.”

Maggie doesn’t think Ice deserves a capital; I do because it’s a name. What do you all think because we can’t agree? I think it might be an American vs. Australian/British thing.

(note, Maggie has approved this post so I’m not being a smart-ass ;)
