My .screenrc 0

I’ve found that by adding the last shell line my .bash_profile is parsed, setting my path to include ~/bin. The hyphen means that it’s a login shell.

mlambie@hotrod:~$ cat ~/.screenrc
term xterm-color
bindkey -k kD stuff \177
vbell off
shell -/bin/bash

MasK is a real-life Zartan 3

MasK (the geezer pictured left), the creative genius behind what is arguably the most recognizable mixed martial arts brand TapouT has a new show on television. The program is called “Vs. Tapout”, it’s on the Versus network in the US and it’s actually quite good.

The TapouT team, comprised of the face-paint wearing MasK, the 7-foot-plus Skyskrape and the black-clad Punkass drive across the US in their custom RV taking time to get to know the fighters that they sponsor. At the end of each show their sponsored fighter competes and we’ve learnt a bit more about them and the TapouT guys.

On first impressions I thought MasK would be a dickhead. No debate - he had all the makings of a poser, but that’s not the case at all. I actually think he’s a pretty down-to-Earth businessman that’s not only using MMA to make a great living but is significantly giving back to the sport that’s put him where he is.

… Much like Zartan.

All the while though I can’t help but think that if they were ever to make a real-life GI Joe film (which there were rumours of a few months back) that he’d made a fantastic choice for Zartan (pictured in cartoon form).

Jason Tan competes in the UFC 2

Jason Tan fought at UFC 72 in Northern Ireland on the weekend. I was cheering against him in his fight with Marcus Davis. It was really weird hearing the commentators say Jason’s name over and over again.

It felt kinda bad, considering I know the Jason Tan you might have thought this post was about.

So 3

So… everyone’s starting their blog posts with “So” these days. What’s with that?

I blame Mark and Mel.

Lego t-shirts by Paul Frank 2

Lego shirt flippedYesterday my package arrived from Lego’s online shop. Among the delights was my new t-shirt.

Lego has teamed up with designer Paul Frank to create a range of both adult and children’s clothing. I’ve looked for this style t-shirt before, even resorting to contacting Legoland directly (this was before I visited them 18 months ago) but never had any luck. I guess they got a few more people asking about it.

Note: I flipped this picture horizontally to get the text flowing the right way, which is weird, because that means that Photo Booth does some flipping by itself… but why I wonder? It now appears as what you’d see if you looked at me.
