After losing my phone over the weekend I found myself having to replace it Monday morning. The whole process was surprisingly painless and Vodafone reissued my SIM in a matter of minutes. I decided to get the Sony k800i, after Mark's rave reviews. I've followed his advice before and it ended up hurting me, so he knows how much he's going to cop it if his brand (yes, Sony is his baby) fails me yet again :)
it has a 3.2 megapixel camera with a real flash, which was part of the reason I liked it. I need to get into the mindset of snapping photos for my Flickr account and I had toyed with the idea of buying a "real" camera but in reality I think it would sit at home forgotten about more often than not. In contrast, my phone goes everywhere, so having a decent camera attached to it might actually work. There's no zoom (well, digital, but that doesn't count) but that's fine too. The interface is snappier than the current batch of Nokias too.
It initially didn't like syncing with iCal but I found a plugin that updated the phone libraries. £1.49 later and Bluetooth was dancing. I initially forgot the pairing code for my headset (it's a Jabra BT500, and the code is "0000") but that works fine and dandy now too.
