iTunes volume 0

Note to self: iTunes has its own volume level, which needs to be cranked up large stylez.

Floss, people 7

I would like to take this opportunity to reinforce an important message: brushing your teeth alone is not enough.

Tonight when I flossed my teeth (before brushing, of course) I removed no less than seven pieces of roast meat. The worst part is that some of those specimens were from my mid-morning roast beef sandwich, and not dinner :(

SVN, again (again) 1

When you’re finished developing a trunk and want to package it up for release, you make a tag.

svn copy https://prime/client/tfg/project/trunk \\
    https://prime/client/tfg/project/tags/1.0 \\
    -m "Project: comment"

Atleast that’s what we’re doing ;)

Also, when you want a clean version of your software (without the .svn hidden directories) you can use svn export.

svn export https://prime/client/tfg/project/tags/1.0 project

Total brand addoption 1

Adam and I had lunch in a local cafe and they were playing an old Robbie Williams album “Sing When You’re Winning”. It brought back some fond memories and I thought I’d listen to it when I got back in the office.

I logged into my media server at home and checked but it’s not an album I have in digital format. Infact, I started to wonder if I ever had it. I know that Laura left a copy at my parent’s place many moons ago, but that’s no good. I checked a few torrent sites but they were no good.

So I fired up iTunes and connected to the music store. There were three different copies of the album available (I’m guessing the UK, Australian and some other) so I picked the one I wanted and bought it. I had to sign up for an account, which took a few seconds and then the content was coming down.

By the time the first tune was finished playing, I’d downloaded the whole album. Sure, we’re on a pretty fast (20 megabit, I think we get about 8 megabit throughput) link, but that’s not the point.

When Apple make things so easy it’s almost stupid not to use their services. I feel myself falling further and further into the realm of Apple.

Ohh, and while you’re at it, download Darren Hayes‘ new tune and make a donation for kids suffering with HIV. I paid 5 bucks, and last night he mentioned on Rove that he’s matching donations dollar for dollar. Nice guy.

Dear Channel 10 5

Constantly claiming that “The Wedge” is a “hilarious new comedy” doesn’t actually make it so. In fact, it probably helps make it one of the worst shows on television. Seriously, it’s crap.

The only partially funny person is the fat chick that played Tula on SBS’ Pizza.

Partially.
