Adobe Labs’ AJAX toolkit - Spry 5

Adobe Labs have released a preview of their Spry toolkit. It is yet another AJAX library, but this time the fact that it's carrying the Adobe brand grabbed my attention. Check out their demo pages - I especially like the product listing, and will try to encorporate that into a project I'm working on at the moment.

php-mysql-tutorial.com has a bunch of cool snippets of code. I used it to find out about saving uploaded files to BLOB fields in a MySQL database.

Duologies and trilogies 12

We're starting to have movies on while we work.

Friday we did the Terminator trilogy.
Monday we did the Karate Kid trilogy.
Tuesday we started Star Wars (IV-VI).
Wednesday we finished The Empire Strikes Back and both Wayne's World films.

We've got all three Beverly Hills Cop films, and all five Rocky films lined up. An obvious choice is Back to the Future. What other recommendations do you have?

SMTP from outside Westnet 3

I've talked about using mailr.westnet.com.au before. It is a server that allows you to relay mail through it if you're outside the Westnet network, so long as you authenticate against it beforehand.

I had some problems at Adam's new place because port 25 was being blocked by iiNet (both incoming and outgoing). I can see why they'd do it, but it was annoying having to work out why it worked from other sites and not here.
