Telstra charges you to pay your bill
If you use a credit card to pay your bill, Telstra charges you between 0.63 and 1.68% of the bill cost in “payment processing charges.”
I hate Telstra.

A lot of Computer retailers charge you %3 to pay by credit card, as credit card facilities are more expensive than eftpos. On top of that, it costs more to handle AMEX than it does Visa or Mastercard, so that’s why AMEX isn’t as widely covered, although i use it as much as I can because it gives me twice as many reward points :)
But yeah I know how much you love telstra :) Lately though they’ve been coming through with the goods on my mobile bill.
Welcome to yesterday.
I moved my phone services to Optus and linked my mobile for extra discounts.
Since the laws regarding passing credit card fees onto customers were changed, I’ve noticed several retailers taking advantage of it. I got hit the other day when buying a Multirider from a newsagent.
Telstra have been taking advantage from day one. And that was a few months back now.
It’s probbly not fair on things like phones where the margin is so fricken huge…
There are some place though, where 3% can hit your margin quite badly though (computer stores for instance) and charges range from 1% to 5% depending (could be more and less too)
Youre only just realising that telstra suck balls?
I’ve been saying this for years man… YEARS!
