iPod Shuffle

New toys make me happy ;)

iPod Shuffle

Adam and I received thankyou gifts from our employer yesterday for the good job we did representing the company in Canberra and Sydney - 1GB iPod Shuffles! They work under Linux using gtkpod, and an iPod HOWTO is available on the Ubuntu wiki. Now with my new shoes I really have no excuse for not exercising.

Am I missing something? Aren’t you your own employer? IS this the joke? Am I stupid? :P

Naah, no screen isn’t a problem. I especially like how when you turn the iPod back on it recalls your spot in the playlist. It’s be cool if you could have it go back 20 seconds before playing, which for things like LUGRadio podcasts would rule. Also there’s a 2 second pause between tracks which I’d like to see removed. Time to Google.

Wow, that’s something in common with WestNet (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=329777#r6).

I received an iPod Photo last week.

    Aren’t employees kind!

i have my whole shuffle memorised anyway, so i know what’s where. 1 gb is pretty easy to memorise.. anyway, not knowing what is next on shuffle mode is the whole purpose of shuffle mode.

I always find if I load up a playlist in winamp (etc), and hit random, you can see the random order, which then makes me skip songs.. its not maximum randomness. i can’t see any use for a screen on this device, except maybe to display a picture of boobs.
