Not Wicked: Dealership stickers 9

Emma's Dad just got a new Toyota Kluger which got us talking... We all hated how dealerships put stickers all over cars that they sell. I especially hate how some dealerships use the car's existing badges as part of their advertising, by putting transfers directly on the paintwork.

Transparent backgrounds 0

The latest in LCD technology? Not quite.

Cat in the screen

I came across a bunch of these photographs showing a "transparent" backgrounds.

I thought they were really cool.

Soccer: 8 - 2 0

Just a quick post before I head out with Gordo and the rest of the team to celebrate our, and my, first goals.

I scored our first goal of the season from a lovely pass from Gordo, and Tony scored the second on his own.

The score doesn't reflect the improvement made on last week. Having a sub helped too, and the run with Mark made all the difference.

Glasses required 2

Terminator's red eyeSo it seems Maggie was right - I do need some specs.

I went and had my eyesight tested today at OPSM in Carousel. The optometrist was very friendly and the test was quick and easy, taking about 30 minutes. Both my long and short sight are below perfect, but the glasses will be helping to rectify my short vision. This will be helpful considering I spend the day looking at a computer screen.

I haven't asked, but I'm doubting they have the technology to replace my eyeballs with red glowing sensors just yet. That would be cool though, and would fix my colour vision too :)

Double for nothing 3

I just worked out that for the last four months we've been underutilizing our water jug. The jug has two sections; the top part is a white retangular box that holds the water filter and sits in the clear plastic jug. You fill the top container, which then filters through to the bottom of the clear jug.

It seems that the top section can fit in two different ways. One allows unfiltered water to flow out a spout and mix with the filtered water when you pour it, and the other does not. As a result, until now I'd been filling the jug "half way", that is, I'd fill the top section and let it all filter through before pouring it. This meant that the jug in the fridge was always at half capacity, as I didn't want unfiltered water mingling with my pure water ;)

It turns out that you can turn the top section about 180° and it fits, but blocks off the spout. This means I can have cold, unfiltered water in the top ready for when we empty the bottom chamber.
