Ripping Xbox ISOs on Linux

If you're ripping or creating Xbox ISOs on Linux, you need extract-xiso. It's without a doubt the coolest little application I have on Duke.

It'll even let me rip the ISO file straight to the Xbox over FTP. I think that's really cool, though I'm yet to try it out.

With this in the collection, I've been able to 100% recover all the functionality of the Windows 2003 server with an Ubuntu server, and that's not including the extra functionality I've gained. And the stability. And securtiy. And, well you should all know what I'm talking about.

You can also run Linux very easily on an XBOX, I use it currently with x11vnc and avidemux plus a few other tools to convert AVI to DVD compatible MPEG2 audio and video :)

Does a reasonable job rather than have my main PC on all the time or something.

Nice setup. Cheap too. My Xbox mainly gets used for XMBC which reduces the need to convert formats.

Video-in on the Xbox would be killer; I know that you can get USB inputs (that’s all the front game ports are) but I doubt it’s USB2, and wouldn’t have the bandwidth needsed for video capture.
